Shelly and Austin ~ Engagement ~ June 28, 2009

Austin asked her out. Shelly refused. But that was just the beginning.

They knew each other in high school and when their senior year came around they had three classes together. It was as if fate gave them the biggest clue to their futures.

Austin couldn't have been any luckier. He finally had the chance to show Shelly what she was missing.

He isn't as thick as his steel-toed boots or as tough as his Ford truck. His heart is warm and his spirit is high. And he knows how to have fun and and live life with no exceptions or excuses. He knows what he wants and his motivation fuels the fire.

When I first met Shelly she was shy and cute as a button, but once you get to know her; she throws it down. She may be petite, but it's no obstacle for her. She is smart and has the sweetest voice, and her heart is as big as the state of Texas. No wonder Austin wants to marry her.

I am excited and enthralled that Shelly and Austin have chosen me to photograph their wedding in San Antonio, TX. It is going to be a fantastic day!

St Andrews, Scotland better known as the "Home of Golf"

"I am golfing St Andrews today," was my brother's response when I asked him what he wanted to do.

"Whatever," I said under my breath as I glanced at my sister. We didn't have to say anything to know that we were thinking the same thing. There is no way he is going to be able to walk on to St Andrews without a tee time. People reserve tee times for the Old Course years in advance. Who does he think he is?

My sister and I learned a few things that day. First, never underestimate your little brother and always be supportive, even when the idea sounds ridiculous.

Secondly, there are seven courses associated with the St Andrews Links, with the Castle Course being the most recent addition and the Old Course pioneering the game of golf. Single golfers can usually get onto a course if they get to the links early and it helps to seek advice from the caddies and starters. It's also useful if your handicap is zero as in my brother's situation, but if your game is decent, anything is possible.

That day I ate my words and my brother was thankful for the pictures I took as he enjoyed the tranquility of the Jubilee Course.
